We don’t like high fives. We’re more “elaborate handshake” guys, and it seems like every time someone tries to high five us we’d rather just punch ourselves in the face than have to deal with the dishonor of this particular form of greeting. So, instead of having that awkward moment where you have to decide whether or not to actually go through with it, do this instead. You’ll sleep better at night. Conversely, if you see someone you don’t like, offer them up a friendly high five for being so damned awesome!
Instructions after the jump.

1.
High five.2.
Move past the high five with your arm and place your hand, thumb down, right around c2 or c3 on the spine (where the neck meets melon). Start to pull the head down in a circular motion (think scooping) until his/her weight comes off of one foot and raises slightly.3.
At this point, bring your left hand down to connect with the weight-less leg. The next three motions need to happen simultaneously…

4, 5 and 6.
Considering their center of gravity, you want your right hand to continue scooping down while the left hand lifts at the leg. They should both move along the path of a big circle centered at their stomach. Right as the head starts to curl under, sweep out the standing leg with your right foot to finish the throw.

You can’t really play this one off as a mistake, so you should probably consider their reaction to something like this. We usually just stand there and wait for something interesting.

Josh is going to post more on sweeping technique in a bit.

I’d totally do this to my friends, given that we’re in a padded area.
